Are patches on my micro-fiber sofa normal?
I recently got my old sofa re-upholstered. On delivery, the sofa looks very old and patchy. I had chosen from a set of color samples(chocolate brown) and which looked evenly colored. The upholstery people informed me that this is how the micro-fiber finish is but I am not convinced. Can someone please throw some light on this?
Patches are actual cuts of fabric sewn to another piece. I think what you mean is the fabric has a nap which seems to show differently when smoothed in a different direction. If this is the case, then yes, it is normal and expected.
